Geneseo Republic of May 21, 1943

Work has been received here of the death of Mrs. Sarah Brazell, aged 77 years of Rochester, Minnesota, which occurred at 6 o'clock Monday morning., May 17th in the Hospital at Monmouth, Illinois.   Mrs. Brazell had been visiting her her, Harold V. Brazell in Monmouth for two weeks and upon being taken ill was removed to the hospital.  Harold Brazell formerly resided in Geneseo and was employed as a barber in barber shop now operated by Fred DePauw.   Mrs. Brazell was born August 15, 1865, in Geneseo,  the daughter of Joseph and Frances Rick Sand.  She was married to Martin Brazell in 1892.  Survivors are the son, Harold, of Monmouth, two daughters, Mrs. ME. F. Elusterman, of Rochester, and Mrs. A. E. Forsyth, of New Windsor, a brother David Sand of Geneseo and a sister Frances Beers of Worthington, Minn. and one granddaughter.   The remains were taken to Luverne, Minn., Monday evening for funeral services and burial.  Those from Geneseo who went to Monmouth  on Monday were Mrs. Sarah Sand, David Sand,  Floyd and Archie Sand, and Mrs. Harry Weimer.
