Carl H. Nelson, a resident of Monmouth since 1941 died on Friday at 2:40 p.m. at tbe' Warren County Convelescent Center where he had been a resident for six weeks.he had had a heart condition ofr three years.Born on October 18,. :1887 in Swden the son of .Nels P. and Anna Henrickson Bengtsson, he spent his early life in Sweden,and came to the United States' in 1903 His imarriage to Gertrude Brandt took place on February 1,1919 at Kirkwood. Mr. Nelson was a farmer, a member of the First Lutheran church of Monmouth,. and a member of the Lincoln Lodge, AF & AM. He enjoyed fishing and outdoor life. Mr. Nelson se:ttled in Illinois in 1920, and lived in the Kirkwood, Stronghurst .aid Monmouth communities.

Surviving along with his wife are two sons, Lyle of Cameron, and Henry of Baltimore, Md.: a daughter, Annabelle of Chicago; seven grandchildren, and a .half- brother, Johan Nilson of Sweden. Funeral services will be held at: 2 p .m. on Monday at the Turnbull Funeral Home in charge of Rev. Raymond Swanson of the First Lutheran church with burial in the Center Grove cemetery at: Kirkwood. The family will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 7:30 p. m. until 8:30.


The estate was that of Carl H Nelson, Lenox township, who died October 3, 1958. The petition in dicated he had personal property; worth $300 and real estate of unknown value. Heirs are the widow two sons and a daughter. Judge Klukos named the widow, Mrs Gertrude. M. Nelson, as administrator.
