A.B. Sisson was born on Sept. 2, 1813 in Albany Co. New York. and came to the township in 1836. The following year his father and all the family including 8 children arrived locating on the N.W. section of 20. A.B. Sisson located on section 29. His father Joseph died in 1851 in Greenbush, his widow died May 1882 in Page Co. Iowa at the age of 92. The children C.F., R.K. Augustine W. died 1851. M.F. died 1882 A.J. Ann Mary E. Are living. Ann married Matthew Hammond and is living in Iowa, Mary E. married George Welty and was living in Kansas.
A.B. Sisson was elected clerk on Apr. 4, 1854 when Swan Creek was organized.
Asahel B. Sisson taught the second school in the township in a log school house on Section 17 in the winter of 1837-38.
