Tazewell County Brick Walls (and Queries) Have you run into a Tazewell County genealogy problem you can't solve? You don't know your great great grandmother's maiden name, and Great Aunt Gertie just died before you could ask--and the courthouse has lost the records? Well, somebody out there knows! Just write up your Tazewell County genealogy problem and send it to me. I'll post it right here with your E-mail address, and we'll see just how sharp our researchers really are! Many thanks, Bill Wilson Site Coordinator

Aaron M. Hackett/Susan Cullum
I am looking for information on the
Hackett family. Especially Aaron M. Hackett.
b.1811 . He had a mail route from Pekin to Jacksonville Illinois
in 1837. I have a copy from the Post Master General, Sandusky,
giving him the instruction on the route. I have found several
deeds in Tazewell county for his property. I have also found his
marriage license to Susan Cullum in
Illinois. He moved from Illinois to Kentucky where he died.. I
would like to get in touch with other family members. I am not
for sure who his parents are or if he was born in Ohio or
Illinois.

Louie/Louis Rudolph and Bertha O. Leehy
I am looking for information on Louie/Louis Rudolph and Bertha O. Leehy. Married 28 Feb 1919. Were they married in Tazewell Co. IL.? They had a son John Thomas Rudolph b. 18 Aug 1920 in Pekin. Bertha and Louie/Louis must have divorced before 1926 since Bertha remarried in Champaign Co. IL. in 1926. Did Louie/Louis and Bertha divorce in Tazewell Co.? I find no 1920 census with Louie and Bertha living in Pekin. But on her 1926 marriage certificate to Jerry D. Kibler she says she is living in Pekin.

Tyrell-Smith
On your website is a Tyrell family photo. In it is my great grandmother Elizabeth and her son Philip - my grandfather. This is the first time I have seen her picture. And I have only seen two pictures of my grandfather, both as an adult.
[Bill's note; For a complete list of names and a larger version of the picture, go to Mackinaw History and select "1920 and beyond"]
