Aaron M. Hackett/Susan Cullum

I am looking for information on the Hackett family. Especially Aaron M. Hackett. b.1811 . He had a mail route from Pekin to Jacksonville Illinois in 1837. I have a copy from the Post Master General, Sandusky, giving him the instruction on the route. I have found several deeds in Tazewell county for his property. I have also found his marriage license to Susan Cullum in Illinois. He moved from Illinois to Kentucky where he died.. I would like to get in touch with other family members. I am not for sure who his parents are or if he was born in Ohio or Illinois.

Louie/Louis Rudolph and Bertha O. Leehy

I am looking for information on Louie/Louis Rudolph and Bertha O. Leehy. Married 28 Feb 1919. Were they married in Tazewell Co. IL.?

They had a son John Thomas Rudolph b. 18 Aug 1920 in Pekin.

Bertha and Louie/Louis must have divorced before 1926 since Bertha remarried in Champaign Co. IL. in 1926. Did Louie/Louis and Bertha divorce in Tazewell Co.?

I find no 1920 census with Louie and Bertha living in Pekin. But on her 1926 marriage certificate to Jerry D. Kibler she says she is living in Pekin.

I have found no information on Louie/Louis Rudolph at all anywhere. Was Louie/Louis a nick name or middle name? He was supposedly born in 1897 in Louisiana.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Jacque Leehy-Dunning

Tyrell-Smith

On your website is a Tyrell family photo. In it is my great grandmother Elizabeth and her son Philip - my grandfather. This is the first time I have seen her picture. And I have only seen two pictures of my grandfather, both as an adult.

I believe the photo must be from around the turn of the century. Philip was born in 1884 and his sister Frances Pearl was born in 1888. He looks to be about 7 or 8 and she about 3 or 4. Frances died in 1902 and Philip died in 1931 when my father was 12. I believe that Elizabeth's father died when he was in his 40's and that most of her siblings in this photo did not marry.

[Bill's note; For a complete list of names and a larger version of the picture, go to Mackinaw History  and select "1920 and beyond"]

If you know anyone who might have more information about the Tyrell or Smith families, I would appreciate any contact information you can provide. This website has helped me immensely, especially since I am doing this research from Richmond, Virginia.

Sincerely,
Amy Smith Childers

Ewing/Davis/Lewis/Castle

My name is Kathy Woods. I have been researching family history for years. I have Tazewell Co on my husbands mom's side. Ruth Hannah Ewing married Lemuel O Davis in Morton, Tazewell Co 18 Feb 1862. They lived in Warrensburg, Macon Co.

There are also other Ewings buried in the County. Do you know of any Ewings or the name Lewis or Castle working on family history??? I believe they were early settlers.

Thanks for any info

William Cohenour

I am looking for information on William Cohenour who was born in Illinois (according to the census records) as were his parents (as listed on the census records).

There are 3 different William's living in Illinois in 1850 and I know that the one who was living with Jacob Cohenour is not my William.

I know that he said in a letter that he was raised by his grandparents... but he did not give their names.

I do know that he was in the military for the civil war and was registered in Tazewell County, Pekin, Illinois.
William was in Company F - Unit 11 Illinois US Calvary and Company F - Unit 8 Illinois US Infantry.
He joined in Pekin, Illinois both times.

He was married in Iowa to Sarah Jane Green. But I don't have any clues as to when he came to Iowa.

I don't know any of his siblings or who his parents were.

Thank You

MARY ELLEN STUMBAUGH

Does anyone have any information on a MARY ELLEN STUMBAUGH?

She married  August Kridner in 1884 in Tazewell co., and lived the rest of her married life in Woodford co., Illinois
I am trying to find who her parents were. She was born in 1854 Tazewell co., and died in 1924 Woodford co.

On the 1860 census she appears to be a orphan living with the Boucher family.

Any clues would be appreciated.

Calvin V Washburn

I am searching for clues to my gg-grandfathers ancestors.

Calvin V Washburn, according to most census information, was born about 1813 in New York. He is not the son of Freeman and Vienna Wright Washburn nor is he the Calvin who married Mary/Marcia Cole and migrated to Pennsylvania.

A daughter, Mariah, was born 5 Mar 1841 in New York. Calvin probably married Mariah's mother in New York prior to 1841. I believe he may have been in Allegheny County, New York, in 1840. Other New York-born Washburns around the same age with ties to Calvin were Mariah M, Luther, Thomas G, and Hiram A Washburn.

Calvin's 2nd child, my gg-grandfather Henry Arthur, was born in 1844 in Kentucky. According to censuses his mother was born in New York, so I believe he and Mariette had the same mother. Henry's mother died shortly after his birth, according to his Civil War Pension records.

In Calvin's household in 1850 is a Lucretia and one-year-old Alva. When Calvin migrated to Illinois/Iowa/Missouri around 1854, Alva remained with him. There is no later sign of Lucretia. Calvin married a widow, Evaline Hedge VanPelt, with whom he had nine children, born in Tazewell County, Illinois, and Putnam County, Missouri.

Clues or any related information would be appreciated, and I would love to hear from cousins.

Happy hunting,

Annie from Kansas
