Jim Bluejacket

Jim Bluejacket, was born in Adair, Oklahoma, July 8, 1887, the son of William and Lucy Daurthy Bluejacket.  There were five children, James, his brother Louis, two sisters and one other brother.

After moving to Pekin Illinois in 1911 to pitch for the Pekin Celestials of the Illinois-Missouri minor league baseball league, Jim met and married the young Jennie Piro December 23rd, 1912.The marriage took place in Carthage, Missouri. They had two children: Fred and James Jr. (Jimmy).

When Jim was pitching in Pekin, the ball park was located at what was later known as the Soldwedel field at he end of N. Capitol street.
