Funeral services for George Wilson, 89, well resident of Toulon and vicinity for a number of years were held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon at Kidd Funeral home.

Mr. Wilson died at 7:30 Thursday morning at his home in this city after being ill for the past few weeks.

Mr. Wilson was named president of Peoria Producers company at time it was organized and served in this office for about 30 years.
He had been active in Stark County Farm Bureau and for a number of years was treasurer of the organization.

Rev. Eugene C. Anderson, pastor of Toulon of Baptist Church, officiated and Mrs. Helen Schmidt, accompanied by Mrs. Carolyn Wallace, sang “Going Down the Valley” and “Meet Me There.”

Body bearers were Eddie Sitton, of Dunlap; Don Duke, of Peoria; Maurice Holmes of Chillicothe, and Roy Dutton, William E. Trunbull and Harvey Price of this community.

Burial was in Dunlap cemetery.

Was Born Near Edelstein

George, son of John and Sarah Thomas Wilson, was born September 5, 1866,near Edelstein where he grew to manhood.

He was married December 11, 1895 to Bertha M. McKee, of Dunlap. They resided on a farm in Peoria county until 1908 when they moved to a farm northeast of Toulon. In 1942 they purchased a home in Toulon where they had since resided.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Letha M., Mrs. Burl G. Blevins and Stella E., Mrs. Leo T. White, both near Toulon. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Ronald Blevins, of Toulon; Mrs. Doris Obery, of Dunlap, and Sherman White, of Orion, and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a daughter and a grandson.
