Lloyd Evans “Jake” Trickle, 89, of Toulon died at 2:35 p.m. Friday June 20,
2008, in Toulon.
Lloyd was born April 24, 1919, in Toulon, Ill., the son of Jefferson Lloyd
‘Jake” and Flora Evans Trickle. He married Patricia Jackson in 1948. She
preceded him in death in 1987.
Surviving are one daughter, Patricia Trickle, of Crestwood, Ill., three
sisters in law, Ellen Held, Phyllis Leritz, both of Minnesota and Cynthia Lucke
of Missouri, one brother in law, Stanley Jackson of Wisconsin; several nieces
and nephews; a special friend, Virginia Kuhrts of Toulon, and his good buddies,
PeeWee Duncan and Nupe Cantwell.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Lloyd served in the U.S. Army during World War 11 in the Pacific Theater.
He worked with the I. B. E. W. Local 176 as an electrician for 50 years.
He was a member of the Toulon American Legion, Toulon VFW and past member of
the Lake Calhoun Golfing Association.
He was a NASCAR fan as well and loved mowing lawns and gardening. He Loved
animals , along with his special fondness of his canine friend, Bo, and his
feline friend, Billie.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2009, in
the Toulon Cemetery in Toulon, Ill, Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m.
Wednesday at the Debolt Kidd Funeral Home in Toulon, Il.
Memorial maybe made to the Toulon Public Library or the Toulon American
Legion Post Flag Memorial Fund.
