Esteemed Resident Passes Away Here Monday
Mrs. Nettie Moffitt, 80, wife of George Moffitt, passed away in the home
of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Camp, early Monday morning following a long
illness. She was a life-long resident of Princeville township.
She was born in Jubilee township December 5, 1874, the daughter of Byron
and Margaret Turner Brown. She was united in marriage to George Moffitt
December 25, 1901. She resided on the same farm in the White’s Grove
community for 53 years.
Surviving are her husband; one daughter,
Mrs. Camp of Princeville; one son, Leo Sniff of Speer; five
grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death
by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services
were held yesterday afternoon in the Bouton Memorial home with Rev.
Richard Mader, pastor of the Princeville Methodist church, officiating.
She was laid to rest in the Princeville cemetery. Pallbearers were
Lyle Ingle, Harry Snyder, Fred Schaad, James DeBord, Ray Belford, and
Dave Smith.
