Clarence Harlan Dies near Dunlap

Funeral services for Clarence W. Harlan, 63, of Dunlap were held at the Methodist church, March 14, with the pastor Rev. Charles Smith, officiating. Mrs. J. E. Felton sang at the service with Mrs. J. B. Stephenson accompanying her at the piano.

Charles W. Harlan, son of Moses and Lavinia Harlan, was born March 18, 1882, near Dunlap and passed away at his home there just one week before his 64th birthday. He was married to Dorice Bristol February 7, 1906 at the home of her parents.

With the exception of three years spent in Colorado her farmed near this community throughout his life until he moved to Dunlap three years ago. He was employed at Isaac Walker’s hardware store in Peoria before his illness.

He is survived by his wife, six children, Clyde L., of Springfield, Mrs. Wilma E. Gordon of Peoria, Walter E. of West Allis, Wisc., Mrs. Velma L. Hoffman of Dunlap, Harold E. of Dunden, and Lela V., of Dunlap, 12 grandchildren two brothers and two sisters.

He was a member of the Dunlap Methodist church from which he was he was buried. Burial was in the Dickerson cemetery near Dunlap.
