Mrs. Linton Fordice Expires in Elmwood Hospital Monday
Word has been received her of the death of Mrs. Leila Brockway Fordice, wife
of Linton Fordice and daughter of the late Cassius G. Brockway and Nellie DeLent
Brockway of this community. Mrs. Fordice died at the Elmwood hospital Monday
following a brief illness.
Mr. Fordice was born in Wyoming in the house, which is now the Catholic
rectory and resided most of her life in Stark county. For many years the family
lived at Stringtown where she attended school and grew to womanhood. She had a
most unusual musical ability—before she was able to sit on a piano stool and
reach the keys, she could play by ear any piece she had heard.
She leaves to mourn her death: her husband: two daughters, Mrs. Howard Hennig
of Peoria and Martha at the Fordice home near Brimfield; four sons James of
Peoria, Louis, and Fred who reside at home and Harry who is staying with the Jay
Brockways in Wyoming and is a sophomore at Wyoming Community high school; her
mother in Peoria; one sister, Mrs. Homer Tucker of Peoria; two brothers, Frank
and Guy Brockway of Peoria.
A number of Wyoming relatives and friends plan to attend the funeral, which
will be held for her at 2 p. m. Thursday in Brimfield.
