Hold Services Here Shelby Dixon, Age 83

Funeral services for Shelby Dixon, 83, who has resided at the Florence Nursing Home in this city the past three years, were held at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon at the Kidd Funeral Home, Mr. Dixon passed away at 6 o’clock Sunday evening at the nursing home. Before coming to Toulon he had resided in Wyoming.

Rev. Elner Grafft, pastor of Toulon Baptist church, was in charge of the services and organ music was played by Mrs. Dwain M. Wallace.

Pallbearers were E. L. Halsted, of Toulon; Emery Cox, Arthur Cox, Charles Cox, Summer Poppen and Clint Dixon of Wyoming.
Interment was in Wyoming cemetery.

Among those attending from a distance were Joe Dixon and daughter, Mrs. Pearl Hammond, of Peoria; Mrs. Calvin Stowell, of Princeville; Mrs. Ralph Long of Sublette; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Dixon, of Neponset; Mrs. Marvin Taylor and Mrs. Kenneth Witte, of Bradford; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sievers, of Hudson, Michigan and Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Dixon, of Clinton, Iowa.

Shelby H., son of Wayne and Arispa Weiler Dixon, was born August 30, 1862 at Chillicothe. He was married in March, 1896, at Castleton to Miss Pearl Graves, who preceded him in death in 1998.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Fred W. Sievers, of Hudson, Michigan, and a brother, Sidney W. Dixon, of Clinton, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mrs. B. E. Henry, and a brother Rollie.
