Wyoming—Mrs. Sarah A. Cox, 71, a
life resident of Wyoming, died at 5:45 a.m. Monday at Methodist Hospital,
Peoria. She had been ill two weeks.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p. m. CST Wednesday at
Wyoming Congregational Church. The Rev. Gerald Huff of Chillicothe will
officiate. Burial will be in Wyoming cemetery.
Friends may call at Cox Memorial Home, Wyoming, after 4
p. m. Tuesday.
Born Nov, 8, 1883, in Essex Township, Stark County, she
was the daughter of Clarissa Guyre Humphrey. She was married to Arthur Cox Jan.
4, 1905. He died in 1953.
Mrs. Co attended local schools. She was a member of the
Wyoming Congregational Church for 53 years and was a member of the Women’s
Guild. Mrs. Cox was also a member of Stark County Farm Bureau.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Leona Darby of
Stanton, Va., Mrs. Gladys Hyde of Springfield and Mrs. Ruth Daily of Canton; one
son, Clifford Cox of North English, Iowa; eight grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mae Green of Speer; three brothers,
William Humphrey of Toulon, Marion Humphrey and Lee Humphrey, both of Wyoming;
and several nieces and nephews.
