Mrs. Charles Colwell Of LaFayette Passes in Kewanee Hospital

Funeral services for Mrs. Charles Colwell of LaFayette, 74, long-time Stark county resident, were held at 2 p. m. today at the Kidd funeral home in Toulon with burial in the Stringtown cemetery. Rev. C. W. Hamm, pastor of the LaFayette Methodist church, had charge of the services.

Mrs. Colwell passed away in the Kewanee public hospital Monday at 4:40 a.m., after an illness of one week. Death was due to pneumonia and complications. She had been taken to the hospital in Thursday from her home in LaFayette, where she has resided for the 18 years. For many years she resided in Wyoming.

Born Helma Olson, she was the daughter of Peter and Josephine Olson, and was born November 1, 1873, at Duncan, Stark county. She was the oldest of five children all of whom have preceded her in death, except one brother, John S. Olson of Peoria.

She received her education and resided in the Duncan community until a young lady, when she moved to Wyoming. For many years she served as head of the household of the late Payne F. Thomas.
