Pvt. Sherman White, Arlene McCans Wed

Miss Arlene V. McCans of Osceola and Private Sherman D. White, of near this city, were married at 4:30 Friday afternoon at Thompsonís Chapel at Kewanee First Methodist church, Dr. Loyal M. Thompson, pastor of the church, performed the double ring ceremony. The couple was attended by the brideís sister Miss Dorothy McCans and Kenneth Odey, both of Kewanee.

Mrs. White, who is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Archie McCans of Osceola, graduated from Toulon Township High school with the class of 1945 and previous to her marriage was employed at the J. C. Penny Co. store in Kewanee.

Private White, who is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo T. White, of near this city, graduated in 1944 from the Toulon Township High school and before going into the army March 1, 1945, assisted his father in farming.

He is now at the parachute school at Fort Benning, Georgia, and Mrs. White plans to accompany him there when he reports December 29, at the end of his furlough.
