Miss Ruby Jean DeBord, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. DeBord of Toulon and Air Cadet Wm. O. Turnbull, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Turnbull of near Elmira, were married at 3 o’clock Wednesday Sept 19, at the Toulon Methodist church, Rev. P. Henry Lotz performed the double ring ceremony.

Mr. Joanne Lee, a classmate of the bride sang “I Love You Truly,” accompanied at the organ by Miss Fannie Jackson, who played the organ 25 years ago for the wedding of the bridegroom’s mother and father.

The bride was given away by her father. Attendants were Calvin Fritz, Gene Harvey, Miss Marge Porter and Miss Helen DeBord, the last a sister of the bride.

Cadet Turnbull graduated from Toulon Township high school with the class of 1943 and enlisted in the Air Corps in August of that year. He was called for duty in December, received his basic training at Jefferson Barracks, Mo., and was an aviation student at Knox College, Galesburg, for five months. In June 1044 he was transferred to Williams Field, Arizona, then to Santa Ana, California and later to Amarillo, Texas.

The bride graduated in 1944 from the Toulon high school and has been attending Brown’s Business College in Peoria for the past year. She will accompany her husband to Enid, Okla., when he leaves Oct. 3 to report there.
