Monica Girl Weds Washburn Man In Service In St. Joseph’s
Church Saturday Afternoon.
A pretty fall bride was Miss Carol
Audrey Burke of Monica as she exchanged nuptial vows with Francis Duane Schierer
of Washburn at two o’clock Saturday afternoon in St. Joseph’s Catholic church in
Miss Sharon Anita Burke, sister of the bride was the maid of honor. The
attendants were Miss Mary Lou Doubet and Mrs. Pat Crouch.
Best man for his brother was Richard Schierer of Washburn and the groomsmen
included two more brothers, Donald and Herman Schierer, both of Washburn and
still another brother Wilbur Schierer, and the brides’ brother Tommy Burke
seated the bride’s and groom’s parents and other guests. Little Paul Burke
carried the rings.
The new Mrs. Schierer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Burke Jr., of Monica
and a graduate of the Princeville Community high school, is employed by the
Credit Bureau of Greater Peoria. The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Isadore Schierer
of Washburn is employed by the Monier Seed Co. in Metamora.
The newly married couple will reside at 812 Logan Street, Chillicothe.
