Miss Geraldine Egan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Egan of Bloomington and
Richard A. Fling, son of John W. Fling Jr. and the late Mamie McClyment Fling of
Wyoming were united in marriage Friday April 12, in Bloomington.
The single ring ceremony was read by Dr. Chester B. Grubb. City Attorney
Fling of Wyoming attended the ceremony.
The bride attended Bloomington public schools, Illinois State University, the
College Secretarial and was graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University were she
did post graduate work. She is a member off the Bloomington-Normal symphony. She
has taught in high schools at Palestine and Girard and for the last few years
has been secretary of the Bloomington branch of the Chicago Motor club.
Mr. Fling attended Gem City Business college at Quincy and was graduated from
Illinois Wesleyan University where he is now working on his masters’ degree in
music. He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha, A. F. & A. M. of Tiskilwa and
Bloomington-Normal symphony. He has taught in schools in Kewanee and Tiskilwa
and served 11 months in the army. He saw action in the Colmar pocket, the
Ardennes and central Germany campaigns.
