MONROE

This village is situated in a fine agricultural township, bearing the same name, in the northeast corner of the county. Since the. building of the Chicago & Iowa Railroad through that locality, quite a little place of business has built up there, with the usual store, etc., of a small village. The town house is located three quarters of a mile north of the station. Schools and churches are in the vicinity
