HAVANA -- Lloyd Frederick Specketer, 73, of 609 N. Harpham died at 10:50 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, 1996, at Havana Healthcare Center.

Born July 16, 1923, in Havana to Harry and Eleanor Schilling Specketer, he married Mary Rose Sarff on July 20, 1946. She died April 18, 1962. He also was preceded in death by one brother.

Surviving are two sons, David of Normal and Dennis of Gurnee; two daughters, Ann Goyen of Washington, Ill., and Maribeth Specketer of Salt Lake City; three grandchildren; three brothers, Glenn, Donald and Kenneth, all of Havana; and one sister, Mrs. Dale (Janet) Brown of Oakford.

He was a farmer, welder and boilermaker.

A World War II Marine Corps veteran, he was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Havana, where services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Edward Brockwell will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Hurley Funeral Home in Havana is in charge of arrangements.
