Additional data submitted by Janine Crandell:

1860 Census data for John & Mahala Aringdale (b approx. 1818 in Virginia):

Their children were Sarah, Francis, Priscilla, Mary, Rebecca, James, George, John, and Charles. They lived in Warren County in the 1860 census and before the 1870 census, moved to Fulton County and lived near John Flake and his family.

1860/1880 Census data for John & Elizabeth Flake:

It seems that 3 of John's children from his first marriage are living with him: Susannah(age 17), George (age 15), and John (age 10). Mary (age 8) might also be from his first marriage with Mary Jane. Harriet(age 4) and William(age 1) are children from his second marriage with Elizabeth.

By the 1880 census, John Sr.'s son, John and his wife Mary, are living with him. John Sr.'s grandchildren are also living there....Henry (age 3), Edwin (age 2) and Cora (less than a year). John Sr.'s 2 youngest children are in the household...Harriet (age 23) and William (age 20).
